OK Mozart Music Festival Offering ‘Big Three’ Package

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — In just seven days, the OK Mozart Music Festival kicks off in Bartlesville. In keeping with the tradition of bringing the finest music to the region, this year’s event welcomes three outstanding performances: Michael Martin Murphey with Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra, Wilson Phillips, and Chris Mann with BSO. Attend all three on consecutive nights of June 8, 9 and 10, and save handling charges on a ticket package. The package includes only one handling fee rather than a fee for each ticket, plus buyers can select the same seat for each concert in the package, if available. Prices range from $115 to $227 per package, or $272 for VIP, which includes a Meet & Greet prior to the performances.

Ticket packages also are available for The Big Four (the Big Three plus Woolaroc), Music to My Ears (Tulsa Symphony, Brightmusic, Miró), and Festival (all of the above plus Burchfield Brothers). Visit bartlesvillecommunitycenter.com to purchase packages.

Legendary Murphey is best known for a genre-busting career that includes topping the pop, country, bluegrass and western music charts. Over the past 40 years, Murphey has left an indelible mark on the American music landscape with hits like “Geronimo’s Cadillac,” “Cosmic Cowboy,” “Wildfire,” “Carolina In The Pines,” “Cherokee Fiddle,” “What’s Forever For,” and “Cowboy Logic.” Murphey recently unveiled his latest album, High Stakes: Cowboy Songs VII.

“In the past two decades, no musical artist has done more to chronicle, preserve and further the cowboy culture than Michael Martin Murphey. His music overflows with life, enough for many of us,” said Dave McGee of bluegrassspecial.com. Since 1990, Wilson Phillips have won the Billboard Music Award, were nominated for four Grammy Awards, as well as two American Music Awards.

Since 2011 Wilson Phillips have been on tour performing their No. 1 hits “Hold On,” “Release Me” and “You’re in Love” among other hits and covers. “Dedicated,” their latest recorded album in 2012, was released in honor of their 20th anniversary, consisted of cover songs originally penned by their parents (The Mamas and Papas and The Beach Boys). With five studio albums under their belt and their impressive pedigree as the daughters of two legendary groups, Wilson Phillips’s harmony-rich sound still sets them one notch above the rest.

Chris Mann is hailed by critics as “the best Phantom since Michael Crawford” after 700 performances in Cameron Mackintosh’s spectacular production of “The Phantom of the Opera.” Mann rose to fame as Christina Aguilera’s finalist on NBC’s “The Voice.” Since then, his albums, “Roads” and “Constellation” topped the Billboard charts, and he starred in two of his own PBS television specials. Mann has performed with the National Symphony, at Christmas in Rockefeller Center and headlined his own symphony tour where his golden voice and hilarious stage stories dazzled audiences across the country.
