A Night on the Town Features Dinner and a Movie
BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (Jan. 3, 2018) − OKM Music and the Bartlesville Film Society present A Night on the Town from 6:45 to 10 p.m. Jan. 12 in Ambler Hall, 415 S. Dewey Ave., in Bartlesville. The movie stars Renée Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Richard Gere. Murderesses Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart find themselves on death row together and fight for the fame that will keep them from the gallows in 1920s Chicago, according to IMDb.
Seating is limited, and reservations are required by Jan. 9. Cost is $25 per person. Call 918-336-9900 or visit okmmusic.org to sign up.
Showcase Director Grace Farmer said the dinner-and-a-movie series is part of OKM Music’s year-round programming. “We are showing musicals to get you in the spirit of music,” she said. “We encourage everyone to join in the fun of what is being offered through music and education all year.”
Farmer said BFS is handling the technical aspects of the production and help to make these events possible. Bambino’s Downtown Bistro will cater the dinners themed with the musicals each time.
OKM Music plans five more dinner-and-a-movie evenings for the 2018 season — “Moulin Rouge,” Feb. 23; “Jersey Boys,” March 23; “Mama Mia,” July 13; “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” Sept. 13; and “Cabaret,” Oct. 26.
Farmer said while “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” is not a musical, it features the hit song, “Moon River” composed by Henry Mancini with lyrics by Johnny Mercer.
